Biography
Attorney Henry Whitmer has been practicing law in Arizona for more than a decade. With dozens of jury trials under his belt, Henry has handled thousands of criminal cases, ranging from DUIs, assaults, drug crimes, sex offenses, all the way to death penalty murder. Henry has taught DUI and court room techniques at the Northern Arizona police academy for roughly six years. If it’s a crime in Arizona, he has probably handled it.
Attorney Henry Whitmer understands that being charged with a criminal offense can be an earth-shattering event. The stress, worry, and fallout that flow from a criminal charge can be far reaching. Henry is dedicated to the founding principles of this Nation: that a person is innocent until proven guilty; that our constitutional rights are immutable safeguards, not mere inconveniences for the Government; and that every person deserves their day in court.
Henry is licensed to practice in all Arizona state courts as well as the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Henry started his legal path in undergraduate, where he interned at the Arizona Attorney Generals and the Solicitor General’s office. As a licensed attorney, Henry started in Yuma County, then in Maricopa County, practicing as a prosecutor for eight and a half years in Yavapai County before joining Signature Law Group. Henry has experience ranging from misdemeanor court to appellate briefs for the Arizona Supreme Court.
Mr. Whitmer obtained a degree in philosophy magna cum laude from Barret, The Honors College at Arizona State University in 2008. Henry graduated with a highest pro bono distinction from the Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law at Arizona State University in 2011. Henry has been published by the Law Review of Phoenix School of Law as well as the Public Policy Incubator Program at the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.
Mr. Whitmer currently sits as the founding president of the Northern Arizona Chapter of the Federalist Society, as well as serving on the Arizona State Bar’s Criminal Practice and Procedure Committee, an Elected Precinct Committeeman, a State Committeeman, and as one of twelve Arizona advisors to the United States Congressional Commission on Civil Rights.
